 信：用血写成的信件

致尊敬的麦克阿瑟将军，我恭敬地请愿：

请免除天皇陛下的战争责任。

对我们日本人来说，天皇陛下是绝对的，他是日本人民的生命。

如果阁下考虑到日本的未来，并渴望世界真正的和平，您就会意识到，让天皇陛下留在日本的政策不仅对日本有利。

如果陛下真的受到审判，不仅是我，还有许多日本人，他们的忠诚近乎于一种在历史和传统中不断加深的宗教信仰，他们不仅会对您，而且会对所有美国人永远怀有巨大的仇恨。

意想不到的事件肯定会发生，作为生活在今天的日本人，即使我们愤慨而死，我们又如何面对我们的后代呢？

阁下：

 我用生命向您恳求，用鲜血写下请愿书。

请不要追究陛下的战争责任。

我是一个人，一个毕业于早稻田大学政治系的西洋画学者，但如果您愿意，我对天发誓，我愿意献出我的生命。

请理解我卑微的心情。

To the Honorable General MacArthur, I respectfully petition: 

Please exclude His Majesty the emperor from responsibility for the war.

 For us Japanese, His Majesty is absolute, and he is the life of the Japanese people.

 If Your Excellency contemplates the future of Japan and desires true peace in the world, you will realize that a policy of leaving His Majesty in place in Japan is advantageous not for Japan alone.

If it ever happens that His Majesty is brought to trial, not only I but many Japanese, whose loyalty is close to a religious belief that has deepened through history and tradition, would hold a tremendous hatred not only toward you, but toward all Americans forever.

 Unexpected incidents would be certain to occur, and as Japanese living today, even if we were to die of indignation, how could we face our descendants?

Your Excellency: 

 With my life I beg you with a petition written in my blood.

 Please do not inquire into His Majesty's war responsibilities.

 I am one lone person, a scholar of Western paintings who graduated from the political science department of Waseda University, but if you so desire, I swear to God that I am willing to offer my life.

 Please understand my humble feelings.
