The assumption in the question point to a lot of ignorance on several issues. These need to be unpacked.
Firstly, all practicing Muslims follow shari’ah. Shari’ah is the principle from which we derive our fiqh, jurisprudence, and our ‘aqidah, theology. Shari’ah is not a “law”. That would be fiqh. It is shari’ah that dictates we pray five times a day, we fast in the month of Ramadhan, that we perform the pilgrimage, and much more. Failure to adhere to this makes one a fasiq, a constant sinner. Disbelief in any of this takes one out of Islam. No one can be a Muslim, and not follow shari’ah.

Laws are made for people,people are not made for laws.
Now sharia law is the exact opposite of this,it is theocratic in nature, assumes that it is the command of the one true God and is thus can't be subject to change. As a result it ends up being oppressive to anyone who doesn't fit in,and a lot of people don't fit in.That includes non muslims,gays,lesbians,apostates and women.
Therefore in other words its just an easy tool to oppress the minorities in a muslim majority population.
