是的,在 Good Old USA 已有 15 年历史
That's bad
They arrested FIVE HUNDRED CITIZENS
That's awful
Of course there was another country that arrested 25,607 People from 1964 to 1973 including 1,605 people for simply writing against the Vietnam War and jailing around 12,000 People in a single day in 1971 for an average of 11 Days and around 1000 People for an average of 207 Days
Good OLD DEMOCRACY LOVING UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Walter Cronkite indeed asked the question
So saying it's wrong to fight is now a crime?
You say 8.5 Years???
This man Ellsberg was prosecuted and tried to be jailed for a whopping 115 years!!!!
Yes in Good Old USA and for ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN YEARS
He spend 11 months in Jail before getting bail and eventually having all charges dismissed
He did the same thing
He wrote about the MYLAI massacre as part of the Pentagon Papers leak
So if anything Russia is being much fairer to it's Citizens than the US was
Good Old Free Russia!!!!
Isn't leaking secret documents crime or something.. how he got away?
I admire the guy, he's a bona fide intellectual there's a paradox named after him actually.. admiringly spoken of by Kissinger himself who isn't someone to throw compliments about intellect easily..
But pentagon papers are state secrets or something..?
> Are 5-year prison sentence felonies not serious?
Preliminary: That’s not really how it works. Felonies are not typically classified according to their possible prison term. Some states have entire schemes for classifying their various crimes. A prison sentence is usually not mandatory, and rests with the judge. In many cases for a first-time offender on a non-violent offense, a 5-year prison se
Yes. Most of the world thinks of a five year sentence as an extremely long sentence. In the US, we hand out five year sentences to hundreds of thousands of people.
There is absolutely no evidence that a long sentence does any more good than a short sentence….or in most cases, no sentence at all. In contrast, it is clear that these lengthy sentences destroy all social, family and community bonds, which in the end, are what actually keep us safe.
I was released from State prison in state-prison clothes (boots, pants, shirt, jacket). I looked like I just escaped, Everything was marked DOC. They said that was their policy. So the first place I went was to McDonald’s, and I got some funny stares. I ordered ten hamburgers, a large fry, and a strawberry shake.
I was not allowed to return to my home state, even though I had several different fami
The type of crime determines the type of prison to which the convicted person will be sent.
For light crimes that were committed for the first time, and which did not entail serious consequences, an easy form of punishment is provided. This is a suspended sentence or 3 years in prison in the first type of prison. This prison represents a village with minimal security and freedom of movement for prisoners. Prisoners must report to the warden twice a day to record their presence. For women, a delay of such punishment is provided until the time when her children are 14 years old.

Putin signed off legislation with ambiguous wording “foreign words that don’t have analogues in the Russian language are not permitted in common usage.”
“Special Military Operation” contains two foreign words that have analogues in the Russian language. Of course, Tsar is exempt from the laws that he signs. He is above the Law.
This new law came out in a timely fashion as Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin introduced a new legislature that punishes with 15-year sentences those who “discredit” the Russian Armed Forces effectively breaking the law that his boss Vladimir Putin has just tu
I once worked with a inmate who had been locked up for over 70 years he was 92 years old and had never seen a car that had an automatic transmission and was amazed by a telephone the first time he used one because he had never needed to use one till the day he was being released so that he could talk to someone to make living arrangements on the outside because he had no people one the outside. And to my knowledge he had never had a visitor or had he ever gotten any mail from anyone. His whole world was in the prison system and he told me that he was extremely worried about being released into
I believe that everyone should know that they can end up here. In my fifteen years plus of incarceration I have met people from every walk of life. I have met lawyers, teachers, bankers, coaches, and even highway patrolmen. Prison is full of what society would have deemed ordinary law abiding citizens. These citizens just made a bad choice or two that cost them their freedom. Some of these decisions were horrendous, some were not, but they all broke the law. I would bet you that if you were to ask them if they would ever see themselves in prison before they committed the acts that landed them
The guilty are not prisoners until after they are sentenced and sent to prison. Prior to that, they are pre-trial detainees who are held in a county jail (United States). Also, the vast majority of people don't go to trial, therefore would have no experience with this. More than 90% of criminal defendants opt to plea bargain. Criminal Cases
I have gone to trial three times, myself. I was found guilty in the first trial, had a hung jury/mistrial the second time, and was found guilty at the third trial, which was a retry of the second.
My reaction to the two guilty verdicts wasn't much. I was sho
First of many hopefully.
Hell no! In my personal opinion there should be NO MANDATORY sentences of any kind, first off. Secondly, I believe every case should be heard on a case by case basis. There are extenuating circumstances in most cases, in my opinion. Some good, some bad…..isnt that why we have judges and jurys? I think “mandatory sentences” came to fruition ,because of the case overload in the courts due to, too many drug cases. That should already be getting better, now that marijuana has been legalized. If you want it to move even quicker, legalize all drugs! But please, I urge you, before you vote against it
“Hard Time" is the second most brutal time to have to endure.
It's when a person in prison tries to maintain a relationship with a romantic interest outside of prison.
There are multiple levels of difficulty, as you can imagine, given the wide range of angst or comfort people can provide for each other.
As I've seen it and lived it first hand as a man, this will be from a man's perspective. It is much different, and much worse, for women. Especially when kids are involved.
The best case scenario is when the wife of an inmate moves close to the prison, visits him every visiting day, sends him pictu
Those loons have “sentenced” judges to prison and filed “judgments” against judges including liens but no, there has never been a judge who actually went to jail because some dimwit wrote up an order commanding the sheriff or a constable to imprison them and while some have had to deal with cleaning up their credit report because of their fake judgements none has ever collected on their fake paperwork.
There’s been a horde of ICJ prosecutors there gathering evidence; they’ll undoubtedly release some sort of report once they’re done analysing it.
This being said, I don’t think it’s a stretch to believe that the report will include arrest warrants for war crimes, and likely even crimes against humanity. The latter is what happens when crimes are committed as an official policy; the war crimes are certainly widespread enough to make it unlikely that they are not Russian policy. By international law, it is Putin’s legal responsibility to see to it that no such policy exists, so this goes all the
Because he knows the west is, by and large, stupid enough to believe anything?
