生活在威權國家的十大事情與蘇聯這樣的極權主義國家大致相同：
- 你對你的國家發生的事情不負責任。你的孩子不會問你，“你們是怎麼允許這些白痴毀掉我們的醫療保健/教育/國防的？” 你的良心是純淨的。
- 您節省了大量的時間和精力用於民事活動和為您的利益而戰。為什麼中國會在這麼短的時間內變得如此強大和富有？因為他們忙著賺錢，而不是上街集會，或者互相喊口號。
- 如果政權變得專制，你可以做出一些不錯的職業變動，向你的同事和鄰居告密，而別無他法。
- 喧鬧的少數民族、流浪漢和乞丐從街道上消失，這明顯改善了城市環境。
- 警察暴力和腐敗永遠從你的視野中消失。有效的訂單維護取而代之。
- 權力走廊更加穩定。這使得建立關係更加可預測。你知道你想和誰交朋友，以及如何做。
- 政治正確的枷鎖消失了。你的統治者、老闆和警察是你唯一可能得罪的人——你總是知道他們喜歡聽什麼，不喜歡聽什麼。
- 媒體新聞流從根本上得到改善。你不再看到關於政府犯罪、墮落、無能和腐敗、基礎設施和社會服務惡化的令人沮喪的消息。所有這些都轉移到其他國家。將會有更多的好消息和幸福的面孔。
- 你的最高統治者將是所有人中意志最堅強、最睿智、最仁慈的，與統治其他國家的白痴形成鮮明對比。沒有什麼能比得上方向感和確定性，這將賦予您和周圍的每個人。
- 貴國的歷史將得到根本改善。人們會發現你過去偉大的新例子，並對你國家的敵人試圖騷擾你的事情找到很好的解釋。
