沒有任何可能的定義是有意義的。如果回過頭來看，那是一個由君主統治的國家，但我們知道入侵、婚姻和戰爭導致所有邊界經常發生變化。

What is the definition of a sovereign state? Why doesn’t Taiwan fit this definition?
There is no possible definition that makes any sense. If one goes back it was a state ruled by a sovereign but we know that invasions, marriages and wars caused all the borders to change regularly.
So the idea is a temporary artifice which changes as often as the weather.
Today we try to claim, for some purposes, that people are OWNED by some government or another. Yet in other cases we claim the exact reverse. i.e. that the people have a right to get rid of some government.
Basically the term is used primarily as a part of prejudicial propaganda and has no place in international discussions. It simply should never be used.
