征服權

 为什么墨西哥从未要求归还其在美墨战争中失去的领土？

因为这不是工作的方式，这不是任何工作的方式。

自从有了土地所有权的概念，通过征服夺取土地的情况就一直在发生。

令人难以置信的是，很少发生的情况是，国家只是要求归还土地，然后就给了他们。

事实上，除了极少数罕见的例外，这种情况基本上从未发生过。

无论你的政治观点如何，你必须接受，美墨战争只不过是一场征服战争，这些领土是通过军事力量征服的。

How come Mexico has never asked for its territories that were lost in the Mexican-American War back?

Because that’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works.

The seizure of land through conquest has been happening ever since the concept of land ownership existed.

What incredibly rarely happens is that countries simply ask for land back, and it is given to them.

In fact that’s basically never happened, except for a very few rare exceptions.

Whatever your political views, you must accept that the Mexican-American War was nothing but a war of conquest and those territories were conquered by military force.

Unfortunately, humans are not that benevolent creatures and so rarely voluntarily give things up, and so the right of conquest hold. Always.

The only time right of conquest is overturned, is by further conquest. And since Mexico has ever since been woefully unequipped to reconquer this land, and likely always will be, the land has since and likely will for the near future remain in American hands.

Whatever people like to imagine, there is no right to land that has ever as reliably held as right of conquest, and by right of conquest that land is the possession of the United States of America.

You can argue this is immoral or unfair, but good luck changing it.

So no Mexico has never simply asked for its land back, because the answer would be an immediate no with little to no hesitation.
