兩國論-更改國名
When the Communist Party of China established a new country: the People's Republic of China, the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China were already two countries, not the same China, and became two Chinas. That the two sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to the same China is a political trickery. This is because the People's Republic of China simply does not have the power and obligation to succeed the Republic of China.
During the discussion on the national name at the meeting chaired by Mao Zedong, Mao advocated maintaining the old name "Republic of China", which was fiercely opposed by Chen Jiageng, a wealthy overseas Chinese.
Chen argued that Mao's new regime should be completely separated from Chiang's old regime, and that the old name "Republic of China" should no longer be used.
After several debates, Zhang Xi Ruo's proposal of "People's Republic of China" was finally accepted.
When I visited Chen Jiageng's tomb a year ago, I saw the bas-relief of the One Hundred and Eight Generals of the Water Margin Tradition carved on the wall of his tomb, which had been destroyed by the Red Guards.
Had this old Chinese who loved the Marsh-land not interfered in the national affairs of the country, the ROC would not have been abolished, and the "two-state theory" of today's cross-straits would not have been uttered, and things would have been much easier to do.
It would have been much easier to do so. Those who are in a position of power and can make or break a country with a single word should be careful in using their mouths.
