蔣介石從1928到1949用武力都無法完整統一中國，建立有效率的中央政權，讓蔣介石留在中國大陸只會讓中國成為內戰的緬甸。
幸虧中國共產黨1945-1949在共產主義世界革命好兄弟的幫助下迅速統一中國，避免中國長期內戰與分裂。由於美國的國際封鎖，讓中國共產黨專心國內事務，幫中國建立現代上層統治機構與統一的基層組織，這是中國歷代王朝做不到的事。
蔣介石在台灣能夠安定下來，除了台灣是個小島外，更重要的是在日本佔領台灣時代，早就抓光台灣的共產黨分子，蔣介石在台灣才不用害怕共產黨武裝叛亂。
在二戰後及冷戰時期，消滅共產黨是國家安定的重要條件。新加坡、馬來西亞也是如此。

Chiang Kai-shek was able to settle down in Taiwan not only because Taiwan was a small island, but also because the Japanese had already captured all the Communists in Taiwan during the Japanese occupation, so Chiang Kai-shek did not have to fear an armed Communist rebellion in Taiwan.
After the Second World War and during the Cold War, the elimination of the Communist Party was an important condition for the stability of the country. This was also the case in Singapore and Malaysia.
